Our History
Touch Life Initiative Africa was founded in 2020 by Humanitarian Aid worker Felix Ojok and Prudence Abongowat, along with social worker Oceng Steven, who were horrified by the violence in Northern Uganda, Disease outbreak, unemployment and ethnic cleansing they witnessed in Uganda and South Sudan. These Co-Founders themselves cognizant and appalled by their nasty childhood poverty and development experiences, then realized they had ‘’to do something’’ to help with all that had given them advantage over those still struggling, but could only do little alone to help bring hope to especially vulnerable children in need of a brighter future; they now have this to say, ‘’ following the sensitive nature of the work in Uganda involving children and the legal implications we faced if things would turn out otherwise, we were discouraged; we were jested; we endured moments of ridicules and demonizing of our passion for children especially the most vulnerable…and we almost succumbed to what we now proudly call mere shadow

Membership fees/dues which are barely minimal but greatly support her administrative support overhead costs. While the intention is to have locally generated resources cover at least 50% of its annual budget, at present membership fees account for a little less than 2%. Our strategy is to outsource more diversified philanthropic support as well as increase on internal revenue source to carry out this great task and thus secure a brighter future for children especially the most vulnerable. The envisaged child wellbeing outcome areas for children-the true posterity of future communities, societies and nations cannot be achieved with a passive, disconnected and disengaged citizens; but if everyone will put in their little bit, we will all be sailing!
The word “partnership” is said to evolve from the Latin word for “portion.” In partnership we share a portion with each other. Therefore, our diverse partnership should achieve a vision that is mutually desired but that cannot be achieved by either partner acting alone. For this and other reasons, TLIA will always share its vision with people in countries who express a strong desire to come alongside us and partner in our children wellbeing and development sponsorship program. Because, often critical needs can arise that are beyond the scope of our local core programs. Also, the needs covered by partners can be highly unpredictable, no one will know when a child will be struck by a medical emergency, no one will know when a natural disaster will strike! So our partners must ensure that the funds and other vital resources for these needs are always accessible.
TLIA therefore, seeks enthusiastic persons like you to warmly and generously give whatever resource(s) you can to bring hope to children together with their families who desperately thrive in less-fortunate life situations in the communities.
You may think you cannot do much, but if everyone will put in their little bit, we will all be sailing! TLIA hopes you will become as excited about helping others as we are, and that you will have fun in the process.
You are all warmly welcome and; your resource contributions are everlastingly cherished.
